Hormone Therapy

HomeHormone Therapy

Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) has evolved significantly since its inception in the 1930’s. In the past, HRT was limited in its treatment options and was used only to ease and treat menopausal symptoms. Now we know that hormone therapy can offer a whole host of benefits and preserve our long-term health.

Both men and women can benefit from hormone therapy. At Anchor Wellness & Aesthetics, we only offer the best treatment methods. Long gone are the days of only using creams, patches, and pills. We offer safe, effective natural alternatives to synthetic hormones, commonly referred to as Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT).

Our practitioners been trained under the EvexiPEL Method, allowing them to learn from some of the top hormone experts in the world. The EvexiPEL Method employs a superior approach to BHRT using hormone pellets placed under the skin just two to four times per year.Using pellets means less hassle and more reliable results for patients looking to optimize their hormones. Anchor Wellness & Aesthetics is one of the only clinics in our area to offer these cutting edge pellets, which are unlike anything else on the market.

What Can Hormone Therapy Do for You?

It's important to address your symptoms, but at Anchor Wellness & Aesthetics , we strive to tackle the big picture. Therefore, we work towards treating the underlying issues of all your health concerns.

Optimizing hormones is advantageous in treating and preventing various chronic diseases and health conditions in both men and women, such as:

Causes of Hormone Imbalance

Hormonal imbalances can arise from diverse factors. Genetic predisposition, health issues like thyroid dysfunction or brain-related problems, and the natural aging process are common causes.

Long-Term Health Consequences of Hormone Imbalance

Untreated hormonal imbalances pose long-term health risks. For instance, men with low testosterone might face bone and muscle weakness and weight gain. Women may experience mood swings, depression, acne, abnormal hair growth, and heightened risks of uterine or other cancers. Both genders could also experience infertility.

Diagnosing Hormonal Imbalance

Your healthcare provider evaluates your symptoms, laboratory results, and overall health to diagnose hormonal imbalances. Signs like atypical fat distribution or unusual hair growth can indicate hormonal issues in men and women.

Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT)

Hormone replacement therapy addresses issues for both men and women by supplementing deficient hormones, optimizing bodily functions, and resolving symptoms of hormone imbalance.

Methods of Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) Delivery

Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) offers multiple delivery methods to tailor treatment to your lifestyle and optimize results across each cycle, ensuring seamless care.

Gels & Cream

Due to patient ease of use and discretion, creams and gels are a popular choice for hormone therapy.

Pills

Another popular kind of hormone therapy is the pill. Pills are convenient to take and provide for accurate dosage. However, they can be inconvenient, just as creams and gels.

Patches

In hormone therapy, patches deliver hormones through the skin, ensuring consistent levels and requiring periodic replacement.

Injections

Injection hormone therapy involves administering hormones via injections, providing precise dosage control and maintaining consistent hormone levels in the body.

Pellets

Pellet hormone therapy uses tiny hormone-filled pellets implanted under the skin, releasing hormones steadily for consistent levels.

Restoring hormones to optimum levels can be the key to better health and improved quality of life.

FAQ'S

The procedure begins with a consultation where your doctor will review your symptoms, medical history, and conduct blood tests to measure hormone levels. Based on the results, a personalized HRT plan is created.

Before your appointment, keep a log of your symptoms, including their frequency and severity. Also, list any medications or supplements you are taking. This information helps your doctor create an effective treatment plan.

The initial consultation and testing may take a few weeks. Once therapy begins, it can take a few months to notice significant improvements. Regular follow-ups are needed to adjust dosages and monitor progress.

The duration of HRT varies based on individual needs and goals. Some may need it for a few years, while others might require long-term therapy. Your doctor will regularly assess your need for ongoing treatment.

HRT is important because it helps alleviate symptoms caused by hormone imbalances, such as hot flashes, mood swings, weight gain, and decreased libido. It can significantly improve quality of life and overall well-being.

If you experience symptoms like fatigue, mood swings, hot flashes, weight changes, or decreased libido, consult with your doctor. They can perform tests to determine if you have a hormone imbalance and if HRT is appropriate for you.
