The Science Behind The Treatment

Injectable neurotoxins are derived from botulinum toxin, and cause controlled paralysis of the muscle they are being injected into. Because most wrinkles and lines are caused by the repeat contraction of muscles in the face, inhibiting those movement allows them to fade.

How to Prepare

Let us know if you have ever had any injectable medication before or any other procedure to treat wrinkles. Also, let us know if you have a history of cold sores or have ever had an adverse reaction to injectable botulism or similar treatments in the past.

Before you arrive

What to Expect

Avoid wearing makeup that would be difficult to remove with a gentle wipe or wash.

Before your procedure, we will gently cleanse and prep the area to be treated. Because the injectable neurotoxin procedure is only mildly uncomfortable, topical numbing is not typically required. If you are interested in having topical numbing, schedule an appointment one hour before your procedure time.

After Treatment

After your procedure you will have a small “mosquito bite” in the areas of injection. This typically fades within a few minutes to hours. Some patients also experience mild bruising in the areas injected, although this varies greatly between individuals. It is fine to cover up bruising with makeup. We will give you in-depth aftercare instructions at your appointment and are available to answer any questions as needed.

Most patients get neurotoxin injections every 3 to 4 months in order to keep wrinkles at bay long-term.

What It Will Feel Like

Most patients say that neurotoxin injections are mildly uncomfortable and easy to tolerate without topical numbing. Topical numbing is available if you are concerned about pain during the procedure. With it, the majority of patients state that they do not feel the injections.

In-office Cancellation Policy

In-office appointments with Anchor Wellness & Aesthetics must be canceled 24 hours before your appointment time. At the time of booking a credit card is required to be on file. No payment will be due until the conclusion of services rendered. Patients who do not make their appointment or do not cancel within the required 24-hour timeframe will be charged a $50 cancellation fee. Anchor Wellness & Aesthetics is committed to meeting the needs of our patients within our community. Without advanced notice of rescheduling, or simply not showing up for scheduled appointments, it eliminates our ability to treat other patients in those time slots. Both a reminder email and a reminder text will be sent to all patients well before the 24-hour cancellation window to aid patients in avoiding this fee. We thank you for your understanding.
